Is it worth repairing or replacing the transmission on a 2010 Toyota Prius?

As a general rule of thumb, a transmission replacement on a 2010 Toyota Prius (mid-size sedan segment, vehicle value roughly $2,500–$3,000) is usually worth it when the installed cost stays under about $1,250 — roughly 50% of what the vehicle is worth.
