Remanufacturing Process: A Smart Choice

Remanufactured transmissions provide a reliable and cost-effective alternative to new or used units, making them an excellent choice for mechanics who prioritize quality, performance, and efficiency. But what exactly goes into the remanufacturing process, and why is it a smart investment for professionals in the automotive industry?

The Remanufacturing Process

Inspection & Disassembly

Every transmission core is carefully inspected for wear, damage, or defects. It is then completely disassembled, with each component thoroughly cleaned and assessed for reusability.

Replacement of Worn or Defective Parts

Any components that do not meet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards are replaced with new or re-engineered parts. This includes bearings, seals, gaskets, clutches, and other critical components.

Machining & Resurfacing

Key components like valve bodies, torque converters, and gears are resurfaced or machined to restore their original specifications, ensuring optimal performance.

Upgrades & Enhancements

Many remanufactured transmissions incorporate design improvements that address common failure points, resulting in a more durable and efficient unit than the original factory version.

Reassembly & Testing

The transmission is carefully reassembled by expert technicians and subjected to rigorous dyno testing to simulate real-world driving conditions. This ensures smooth shifting, proper fluid pressure, and overall reliability.
